You'll receive all the training you need to successfully take on your new role and grow an exciting laboratory sciences career at Pace.Candidate will be part of a team that provides Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support to laboratory R&D operations.This is an Evergreen posting pleaseapply if you'd like to be considered for future positions.Compensation: $22.00 - 28.00 per hourWhat you'll doMonthly safety surveys (presenting monthly safety focus, enter safety surveys into database, track survey data, and make sure findings are closed out in a timely manner)Initiate, follow up, and complete incident documentation of all incidents/injuries within a timely manner; complete WIMS investigations, identify root cause(s), and document measures taken to prevent reoccurrence; provide updates to management regarding causal analysis and corrective actionsActively problem solve and troubleshoot waste logisticsVerify Waste Stream Profiles & Waste Inventory are active and accurateEnsure waste labels are correct and accurateUnderstand and implement waste storage and handling proceduresAssist in the disposal of hazardous waste and materials as part of laboratory clean outsHazard Review documentation (including pre- and post- work) and identify processes within a division/area that will need a Hazard ReviewParticipate in monthly Tech Forum Lab Safety meetings; communicate EHS updates to committees as neededProvide respirator fit testsMachine guarding assessmentsLab commissioning support (to include lab EHS readiness, equipment start up, pre-start up safety reviews, technical support for lab moves, and lab exiting for vacated areas)Maintain active communication with various customer personnelWhat you'll bringBachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, or related fieldEHS (Environmental health and safety) and/or Chemistry experience, 1+ yearOSHA 30 and/or Hazwoper 40, preferredAbility to identify improvement opportunities, develop plans to close gaps, garner management support for key initiatives, and track improvement initiatives to closureRisk analysis skills - capable of hazard and risk identification, assessment, and controls; communicate risks and methods to reduce riskAbilityto adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize work effectivelyWhat we promiseComprehensive benefit program, including medical, vision and dental insurance, 401(k) matching and a tuition reimbursement programOpportunities to build a rewarding careerAn inclusive culture that stands for integrity, innovation and growthResponsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain "non-U.S. persons" (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, "Temporary Residents" (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provisions), or persons granted asylum (but excluding persons in nonimmigrant status such as H-1B, L-1, F-1, etc.) or non-U.S. citizens.Find Your Place at Pace - We need you - your curiosity, your talents, and your drive - to help us advance this important work.BenefitsWhen you join Pace, you commit to work that makes a positive impact on our communities and our world.
