OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Cartography Project Specialist 1 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for owning small to medium cartography-related projects as well as coordinating between cartography and other internal or external groups and monitoring development progress along with managing product launch activities and maintenance releases.Essential FunctionsProvides ongoing operational support for cartography products across the product lifecycle, including new releases, maintenance releases, and data updates, by partnering with engineering, marketing, sales, MarComm, IT, and operations to support cartography administration, release readiness, and lifecycle maintenanceUtilizes independent judgment in organizing and executing all aspects of Cartography Administration and releases operations in accordance with documented Garmin proceduresInitiates, maintains, and updates cartography product information for display on Garmin platforms, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completenessMaintains operational documentation related to cartography administration, release processes, and partner requirementsCoordinates with internal teams and external partners to support ongoing cartography updates, issue resolution, and release executionIdentifies recurring operational issues or inefficiencies and recommends process improvements to enhance cartography release quality and reliabilityOperates within established Garmin policies, procedures, and systems to accomplish assigned tasks, ensuring consistent operational executionCommunicates effectively in written and verbal form to provide status updates, issue tracking, and release communication to stakeholdersThoroughly documents work, decisions, and changes in an organized and auditable mannerBasic QualificationsAssociate's Degree in relevant field or related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant operational experienceStrong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervisionTeam-oriented, possessing a positive attitude and ability to work well with othersStrong time management, organizational and follow-up skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent operational tasksDetail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy across data, documentation, and releasesProficiency with common Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)Desired QualificationsMinimum of 1 year of experience supporting ongoing operational workflows, releases, or data maintenance in data operations, product operations, or technical administrationMinimum of 1 year of experience working with engineering, marketing, operations, or external partners in cross-functional coordinationAptitude for software systems, technical tools, and structured workflowsAbility to analyze information, identify issues, and recommend process improvementsExperience supporting operational or production environmentsDemonstrated ability to provide consistent, high-quality customer supportGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
