Job DetailsJob Title: Production Maintenance Tech - 3rd ShiftLocation: Chaska, MNDuration: Contract to hire- 4 monthsShift: 3rd shift, Monday to Friday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.Job DescriptionHave strong experience in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing environments and a proven ability to maximize equipment uptime, execute preventive maintenance, and support rapid changeovers to meet production goals.Responsibilities:Respond to maintenance requests and perform routine maintenance to ensure production equipment achieves uptime and output goals.Execute changeovers and equipment start-ups quickly to meet or exceed production standards.Test equipment after repairs, changeovers, or downtime to confirm readiness at start-up without unplanned stops.Minimize temporary fixes and implement durable corrective actions to sustain operations.Order parts proactively and request work orders to maintain uptime and reduce emergency maintenance.Measure downtime, debrief stakeholders, and drive improvements for future performance.Support internal customers with urgency, with production as the primary customer of maintenance.Execute preventive maintenance on schedule and contribute to continuous improvement to achieve production goals.Follow up on PM findings to improve equipment reliability and feed learnings into PM planning.Ensure changing schedules, materials, or line operations do not prevent PM completion.Recommend and support equipment design improvements to maximize throughput and reduce non-value-added labor.Administer CMMS activities including entering completed work orders, parts usage, ordering, and restocking.Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in maintenance and production areas, including LOTO and GMP compliance.Identify and correct safety issues and uphold a lean culture using standards that eliminate waste.Apply lean tools and institutionalize 5S across the department.Perform other related duties as assigned. This role is self-directed.Required Skills & Qualifications:3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to multitask, organize, and act with urgency while following GMP and established procedures.Proficiency with CMMS usage for work orders and parts management.Working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) on Windows environments.Ability to read and follow English-language specifications.Basic math including fractions and decimals.High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.Preferred Skills:Two or more years of formal packaging or industrial training.Class C Boiler license.Work Requirements and Physical Demands:May require additional hours beyond a standard 40-hour week based on business demand and tight deadlines. No overnight or day travel required.Frequent workflow interruptions due to production requirements.Continuous standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, grasping, talking, teaching, and repetitive hand/wrist motion, up to 6+ hours per day.Occasional computers work up to 2 hours per day.Ability to lift to 50 lbs frequently.Good eyesight and normal hearing required. Work is indoors and may be seasonally hot and humid with exposure to various fragrances.
