RN - MedSurg/TeleAbout Facility:o 874 Licensed bedso Level I Traumao Teaching Hospitalo Chest Pain Centero Stroke Centero Magnet Designatedo Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit• Unit Information:o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years Med/Tele RN exp (Resource Team)o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team)• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:o Unit specializes in Head/Neck and GI surgeries: tracheostomies, laryngectomies, hernia repairs, colo-rectal surgery, cholecystectomies, appendectomies, ostomy takedowns, as well as other procedureso Medical Overflow• Patient Ratios:o RN: 1:4-6 (surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8)o CNA: 1:9-12• Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)• Skills required:o General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumpso Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF• Support within the Department:o CNA - ratios varyo Receptionist/HUCo Charge nurse, 24/7 - may or may not have patientso Phlebotomy - peripheral blood draws onlyo IV/VAT Teamo Resource Nurse - as availableo RT, 24/7o Hospitalist, 24/7o Intensivist, 24/7o Telemetry monitoring/tech? No monitoring tech; nurses read monitors and respond• Technology/Equipment:o EMR: EPICo IV Pump: Alariso Med dispensing: Omnicello Monitors: Phillips• Scheduling:o Weekend rotation: every othero No call for travelerso Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidayso RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays - must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours• Other notes:o Scrub Color: Navy
