Traditional credit systems are designed for people who already have money, creating barriers for those in need—over 1.4 billion people lack access to credit. Many individuals, such as a vendor in Lagos earning daily cash or a Colombian nurse with perfect informal repayment history, remain invisible to banks. Even those with savings are often excluded. The economics of serving the global majority are unprofitable for traditional institutions.We built Credit to address these issues. Instead of costly verification, we use trust-building: loans start small and can grow to over USD $1,000. In Argentina, amid inflation, over 20,000 people use Credit for essentials, calling it "la salvación del mes"—the month's salvation. Our undercollateralized lending scales effectively, with default rates approaching zero as trust builds. Currently, 140,000 people await access.Backed by Paradigm and Nascent, we aim to create a profitable, scalable system serving those banks cannot.
