Job Purpose The purpose of the Production Supervisor role is to oversee the production of the designated department and shift and the supervise, lead, and coach the employees on that shift. The Production Supervisor is the first-line supervisor and responsible for the performance of the employees and the quality of the production on the assigned shift.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the manufacturing process as it relates to equipment start-up and operationsSupervise minor routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment and ensure root cause corrections and participate in performance of these processes; Monitor, maintain and improve key performance indicators dailyLead training effort of new employees as it relates to production, operation, lockout-tag out, forklift, and other business needsAccurately track and enter production data into the Work Order system and verify shift production matches the induction reportDirect daily shift production of assigned departments and ensure all product meets quality specificationsAccurately complete all administrative paperworkAchieve business goals in areas like safety, quality, delivery, and costAssist with performance reviews, plus other supervisory activitiesLead tool box meetings dailySupport all company policies and proceduresExecute coaching and corrective disciplineEnsure compliance of direct reports to all policies and procedures of The HC Companies.Lead by example and perform all job duties in accordance with Growscape valuesPerform other administrative tasks and special projects as assignedQualifications and ExperienceMust possess process troubleshooting skills to respond to and drive performance/people developmentMust have a good working knowledge of production processes within a manufacturing environmentMust be a hands-on leader with strong writing and verbal communication skills and possess good communication/interpersonal skills and get along well with othersMust be able to read production schedule complianceMechanical aptitudeAbility to be shift flexibleMust adhere to all safety guidelines and foster a safe work cultureAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrate the ability to critical think and problem solve with relation to mechanical and production challengesAbility to work in a team-oriented work environment
