Join our team as a Speech Language Pathologist and help transform lives!In this role, you will be responsible for providing speech therapy support to children ages 5-21. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will collaborate with other disciplines and services, review outcomes, and modify intervention programs. Your clinical expertise and professional judgment will be vital in screening, evaluating, and planning educational programs for students with disabilities.Key Responsibilities:Promoting optimal function and engagement in meaningful activitiesProviding speech and language therapy, including evaluations and progress reportsWorking with children who have autismUsing behavior management techniquesConsulting and collaborating with parents, schoolteachers, and colleaguesRequirements:Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communicative DisordersTSSLD certification preferredPROMPT Experience preferredWorking Conditions:Location: Onsite at our school located in Issaquah, WAMonday - Friday / 8:00am - 3:45pmSchool/Classroom SettingMust be willing to travel to Bellevue location if neededPhysical Requirements:Must be able to keep students safe from themselves and others and in some cases may need to implement CPI (therapeutic holds) proceduresMust be able to remove oneself from potentially harmful situations and in some cases be able to lift a childAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the workdayAbility to lift (at least 50-65 pounds), assist, and/or physically support students, which may include lifting or guiding students of varying sizesAbility to physically intervene when required to ensure safety (per CPI training)Ability to remove oneself and/or others from unsafe situations quicklyAbility to maintain attention and focus in a dynamic, high-stimulation environmentAbility to multi-task and shift priorities quicklyAbility to exercise sound judgment and decision-making, particularly in high-pressure or safety-sensitive situationsAbility to work effectively as part of a team and maintain professional relationshipsAbility to perform duties under stress, including during behavioral escalationsBenefits for Full Time EmployeesGersh Autism offers a competitive compensation package, including comprehensive health and retirement benefits, professional development opportunities, and a supportive work environment committed to your personal and professional growth.
