Java Technical Manager

*Job title: Java Technical Manager* *Location: Piscataway, NJ * *Job Description:* We are looking for a Technology Managers to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale applications. This role combines technical leadership, team management, solution architecture, and delivery ownership to build scalable, secure, and high-performing digital solutions. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with strong expertise in Microservices, Cloud (AWS/Azure), and Agile delivery, capable of guiding distributed teams while partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders. *The Role* *Responsibilities:* * *Technical Leadership* * Lead solution design, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making. * Drive best practices in software engineering, code quality, security, and performance. * Guide teams in developing cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices. * Mentor engineers and technical leads on architecture, design patterns, and modern engineering practices. * *Delivery Management* * Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple projects and releases. * Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to prioritize work and meet business objectives. * Track delivery progress, dependencies, risks, and resource utilization. * Ensure timely, high-quality delivery within scope and budget. * *Team Leadership* * Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams * Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. * Support hiring, performance management, and career development initiatives. * *Stakeholder Management* * Act as the primary technical liaison between engineering teams and business stakeholders. * Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to leadership. * Build strong client and cross-functional relationships. * *Engineering Excellence* * Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and enterprise architecture standards. * Promote continuous improvement through metrics, retrospectives, and innovation initiatives. *Requirements:* * 12-15+ years of software engineering experience. * 3-5+ years leading engineering teams and technical delivery. * Strong hands-on experience with: * Java, Spring Boot * Microservices and REST APIs * AWS and/or Azure Cloud * SQL/NoSQL Databases * Kafka or Event-Driven Architectures * Containerized services * CI/CD and DevOps practices * Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. * Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
