Huachuca, Arizona 85670District WebsiteContact:Mark GoodmanPhone: 520-417-8409Fax:District EmailJob Description:ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises, coordinates, prioritizes and schedules the daily instructional activities functions and staff for assigned grade, program or specialty areaMay interview, recommend hires,Train, evaluate work performance, and discipline Instructional Assistants, in accordance with District personnel policies and proceduresMaintains and updates students grade, attendance, report cards, files and recordsMeets special needs as provided in Individual Education Plan for assigned studentsPrepares daily lesson plansPrepares classroom, learning and activity centers; teaches and assesses students' current skillsFollows established curriculum and standards for classroom educational activitiesProvides learning instruction to assist students in mastering required materialsResearches, gathers and creates supplemental materials and resources in assigned subject areasPartners and coordinates instruction with outside resourcesMonitors student activities before and after school, during recess/playground and lunch as assignedMonitors Instructional Assistants providing clerical support, individual and group activities and instructionGrades and records homework, classwork and testsSets up and meets with parents to discuss or develop programs to meet individual student needsDevelops and implements behavioral and educational programs in conjunction with multi-disciplinary teamKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Knowledge of District rules, regulations, policies and proceduresKnowledge of applicable Federal and state laws, rules, regulations, policies and proceduresKnowledge of age/subject appropriate educational materials, curriculum standards, classroom discipline and behavioral management methodsKnowledge of principles of confidential and regulatory school records and files management practicesKnowledge of supervisory and training practices and proceduresKnowledge of customer service methods and techniquesAbility to speak and read English proficientlySkill in gathering, planning and developing age, ability level, subject specific materials and lesson plansSkill in restraining out-of-control students and implementing behavioral modification programsSkill in implementing educational curriculum, standards and licensing requirements for assigned programSkill in written and oral communicationsSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationshipsQUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:Education & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in area of assignmentMust possess AZ State Department Teacher Certification with endorsements in area(s) of assignmentMaintain CPR and First Aid Certification (Preferred)Criminal justice/Fingerprint clearanceMaintain requirements for access to Fort HuachucaAny equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirementsComputer Proficiency: Demonstrated general proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
