Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer 3

Tharseo IT is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Cloud Consultant Level 3) to support the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise‐scale cloud infrastructure environments.This role focuses on cloud architecture integration, infrastructure reliability, and operational performance across secure cloud environments. The engineer will lead technical efforts to deploy and enhance cloud infrastructure while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and enterprise policies.The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, systems reliability, and secure enterprise architecture, and will serve as a senior technical authority supporting complex cloud initiatives.Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is strongly preferred.This position is primarily remote, with periodic travel and potential Boston‐area onsite support at Hanscom AFB for secure network access.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain secure enterprise cloud infrastructure environmentsIntegrate new architectural capabilities into existing cloud platformsMaintain and optimize cloud infrastructure reliability, performance, and availabilityLead multi‐disciplinary engineering efforts supporting cloud platform architecture and operationsImplement infrastructure improvements, updates, and modernization initiativesSupport monitoring, logging, and system health analysisTroubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and system issuesApply cybersecurity standards, policies, and best practices to cloud architectureContribute to system engineering activities across the design, integration, and operational lifecycleCompile industry best practices and lessons learned to improve future cloud architecture designsInterface with internal teams and external stakeholders across the enterpriseLead design and implementation of OCI environments using a mature Infrastructure‐as‐Code platformRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)8–12+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, or enterprise systems engineeringStrong Linux systems administration backgroundExperience supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, etc.)Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver innovative solutionsDoD IAT Level II certificationActive Secret ClearanceAbility to access secure environments requiring CACStrong expertise in Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure provisioning and orchestration, along with Ansible for configuration management automationPreferred QualificationsExperience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)Cloud certifications (OCI, AWS, Azure, etc.)Experience supporting enterprise or federal cloud environmentsFamiliarity with federal cybersecurity standards and compliance frameworksExperience operating within secure or classified network environmentsWork EnvironmentRemote within the United StatesPeriodic travel to customer locationsPotential onsite support in the Boston, MA areaWhy Tharseo ITAt Tharseo IT, our engineers support secure, mission‐critical cloud environments that power enterprise and defense operations.
