Backend Java / Full Stack Engineer – AI Development

Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Backend Java / Full Stack Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Java development and a practical understanding of AI-assisted software development. The ideal candidate should be comfortable using modern AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to accelerate development, troubleshoot issues, and arrive at efficient technical solutions.The role requires strong fundamentals in Data Structures & Algorithms, combined with the ability to effectively leverage AI tools through well-structured prompting and problem-solving techniques.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and modern Java frameworks.Work across backend and full-stack components as required by the project.Apply AI-assisted development techniques in day-to-day software engineering activities.Use tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to generate, analyze, debug, optimize, and improve code.Develop effective prompts to guide AI tools toward accurate and efficient technical solutions.Demonstrate the ability to break down complex problems and use appropriate prompts to arrive at solutions efficiently.Balance AI-assisted development with strong understanding of programming fundamentals rather than relying solely on generated code.Apply Data Structures & Algorithms knowledge to analyze problems and validate AI-generated solutions.Stay current with emerging AI development practices and continuously improve proficiency with AI coding tools.Collaborate with engineering teams to design reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.Contribute to the adoption of AI-enabled development practices within the engineering organization.Required QualificationsStrong professional experience with Java backend development.Experience with full-stack development is highly desirable.Strong understanding of Data Structures & Algorithms and core software engineering principles.Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools for software development in a professional environment.Experience with at least one of:ClaudeCursorGitHub CopilotAbility to formulate effective prompts and use AI tools efficiently for coding and problem-solving.Ability to independently understand, validate, debug, and improve AI-generated code.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred / Good-to-Have SkillsHands-on experience building AI agents or AI-powered applications.Experience with:LangChainLangGraphLangSmithExperience integrating AI capabilities into existing software applications.Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows and best practices.Important Interview FocusCandidates should be prepared to discuss:Real-world AI development experience – examples of how they have used AI in their current or recent role.AI coding tools – practical experience with Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools.Prompting approach – how they structure prompts to solve coding and technical problems.Efficient AI usage – how they arrive at solutions without excessive prompting or unnecessary token consumption.Technical fundamentals – strong Data Structures & Algorithms knowledge is essential.AI-generated code validation – how they review, test, debug, and improve code produced by AI tools.AI agent development – exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, or LangSmith is a plus.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is not simply someone who uses ChatGPT or AI tools occasionally.
