Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Engineer Technician/Office Engineer to support the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) Traffic Division in Annapolis. The selected candidate will assist traffic engineers with a variety of office-related engineering tasks, including data analysis, documentation, and technical support. This role involves close collaboration with SHA engineers and staff and may require periodic field visits throughout the district to collect traffic data and support ongoing projects.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Understands project needs and determines proper resources for projectsPrepares statistical reports and technical documentation for traffic engineering projectsProactively identifies opportunities for improvement in processes, data management, and project workflowsAnalyzes and selects appropriate information services and tools to support project objectivesAnswers correspondence on technical topics and provides written responses to internal and external inquiriesCollects, organizes, and maintains traffic data from field visits and project sites using established protocols and systemsPerforms quality assurance reviews on data, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with standardsMay be designated according to specialized functions within traffic engineering support activitiesUnder direct supervision, interacts with professional and technical staff, clients, and SHA personnel to accomplish assigned objectives and coordinate project activitiesSupports field operations by preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and assisting with data collection efforts at project sitesUtilizes engineering software and technical tools to process, analyze, and present traffic data and project informationReceives guidance on new aspects of assignments and develops technical competencies through mentorship and professional developmentRequires limited exercise of judgment while performing routine and moderately complex technical tasksQualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:BA/BS degree, or AS Degree plus 2 years of related experience, or HS/GED plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationValid US Driver's License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites.
