Montech Inc. is actively seeking a Court Reporter in support of a U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The DOE, NNSA requires court reporting services for administrative review hearings. Compensation is set by: 1) Appearance Fee 2) Page Count Fee (per hearing/page count varies) Place of Performance The Court Reporter will perform work in a remote setting (i.e., a professional home working environment). Travel is required (as needed) to the following DOE regions: West Region, Central Region,and East Region. Hours of Operation The Court Reporter will perform service hours that range from one to five hours per hearing. Extended hours may occur with required travel. General Responsibilities Transcribe hearing proceedings verbatim and provide final copies to DOE customer. Transcribe hearings that may involve either classified or unclassified discussions. Provide an electronic version of the transcript in an approved format for each hearing. Participate in telephonic and Video Telecommunication Calls (VTC), as required. Travel to assigned hearing locations, as required and in accordance with travel restrictions. Comply with DOE NNSA reporting requirements. Ensure all documents are proofread and free of typographical, grammatical, and numerical errors, and accurately represent the content of the hearing. Abide by the delivery time for submission of final product of no later than thirty (30) calendar days from closing of the record. Prepare verbatim transcripts of proceedings. Personnel on Contract Montech will ensure all personnel possess the necessary education, training, qualifications, and experience to accomplish the requirements identified in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Qualifications The Court Reporter must be a licensed/certified Court Reporter. Additionally, the Court Reporter must hold an active U.S. Department of Energy “L” or “Q” clearance for the period of their employment or be willing/able to pass a DOE background investigation for interim clearance. Security The Court Reporter is required to successfully pass a background investigation and shall comply with Federal laws, regulations, standards, regarding information and information system security. The Court Reporter will attend DOE NNSA security briefings as required. Must comply with the briefing requirements to be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” access authorization. Personnel shall be responsible for safeguarding all Government property provided for contractor use. At the end of normal duty hours and/or after normal duty hours, all Government facilities, equipment, and materials must be secured. At the request of the Government, or at completion of this effort, the Court Reporter shall immediately return any Government-provided property, including any equipment, specialized or off-the-shelf software, and all other property provided by the Government. Professionalism, Responsiveness, and Quality The Court Reporter must demonstrate the following abilities: Sound judgment, foresight, and problem solving skills, possess excellent oral and written communications, and customer service skills, able to adapt to fast-paced work/office environment with accuracy under pressure, demonstrated competency managing schedules, documentation, and automated systems, demonstrate leadership, excellent research and data gathering skills and ability to interpret/analyze complex information, ability to work independently within the bounds and guidelines of the contract requirements and client, knowledge of and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to work and communicate with diverse group of customers and clients within and outside the Federal Government. All personnel are required to wear the prescribed uniform while on duty. They shall maintain a clean and neat appearance and not wear dirty or wrinkled clothing. Uniforms will be sized correctly for each employee and not show signs of excessive wear. The goal is to present a positive image to the public. The Court Reporter must always present a professional demeanor while on site. The Court Reporter shall treat all persons with courtesy and respect, striving to earn positive feedback of customers. Any notification from the Government to Montech notifying that the employee has compromised the security requirements will warrant immediate termination from employment on the contract.
