We are hiring for a Kitchen Assistant to be responsible for maintaining sanitary conditions in the various food outlets at all times. Additionally, theKitchen Assistant is responsible for proper disposition of dirty dishes, trash and replenishment of stock, and assists the cook with ingredient preparation. Specifically: Ensures that the kitchen is clean and operational.Performs all washing and cleaning duties required in the kitchenAssists with inventory controlRemoves garbage, washes garbage cans and cleans refrigerators, freezers and storage rooms.Properly cleans and sanitizes all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.Washes and appropriately stores all cooking utensils, instruments, appliances, cutting boards and dishesAssists the cook with preparations of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting and choppingSweeps and mops the kitchen floors and wipes down kitchen wallsAssists with the unloading of food suppliesCorrectly stores food supliesMust adhere to the safety rules and regulations of the Running Creek Casino and of the Food and Beverage Department. WORKING ENVIRONMENTOffice, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noisesand cigarette smoke. Must handle hazardous materials. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals.
