The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, helping us keep our equipment safe, reliable, and running smoothly to support the efficient flow of cargo.Take this opportunity and come do great things with us!What do you gain from being part of LOGISTEC ?Competitive compensation;Benefits and 401K;Opportunities for career growth and development.ResponsibilitiesWhat your days look like as a Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic:Lead and perform advanced troubleshooting on emissions systems including DPF, SCR, and CEM systemsConduct thorough equipment inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures before breakdowns occurFollow maintenance schedules based on manufacturer's recommendations and operational demandsMaintain accurate service records and documentation for all inspections, repairs, and maintenance performedRecommend improvements to maintenance procedures, equipment and reliabilityDiagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and technical manuals.Maintain and service equipment from manufacturers such as Komatsu, CAT, Hitachi and Heavy Equipment.Execute welding and fabrication tasks to restore and strengthen heavy equipment components, ensuring structural integrity and durabilityStrong experience with diesel diagnostic software and electronic troubleshootingHands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting fuel injection systemsUse diagnostic tools and software (Cummins, Volvo, PLC systems). Mentor junior mechanics and provide technical guidance.Communicate effectively with operations teams regarding equipment status.QualificationsTo succeed as a Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic you must have:High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.Strong hands-on experience with Komatsu and Hitachi equipment Advanced knowledge of emissions systems: DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), and CEM systems Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Experience leading or mentoring a team in a fast-paced environment Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Commitment to safety and compliance Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressureMust be able to lift up to 70lbsAbility to work in varied weather conditions and shop environmentsAbility to stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periodsValid driver’s license and ability to meet company insurability standards.TWIC card required or ability to obtain.Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.#Logistec_US#Logistec_mech
