At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.Job Purpose/OverviewPrepares samples, sets up instruments, runs tests and reads/interprets, and releases results.?Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Must be proficient in at least three clinical areasResponsible for performing tests such as Parasitology, Hematology, Chemistry and SerologyProcess and prepare samplesPerform all required quality control per Quality Assurance guidelinesTrain in all areas to include Specimen Processing, Chemistry, Hematology, UA, and Coagulant according to all SOP'sOversee the entering and releasing of resultsRead UA slides at the required rateReconcile pending listPerform other duties as assignedWe share a collaborative obligation to ensure that we conduct ourselves in the utmost ethical manner and that we hold each other accountable to the values and standards of the organization. Antech Diagnostics has several processes in place to communicate with leadership and expects that employees will have a commitment to integrity and uncompromising values.Education and ExperienceAssociates/bachelor's degree in medical technology or MLT degree in related field is preferredClinical laboratory experience in Hematology is preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesLaboratory skills and experienceGeneral science backgroundAttention to detail and ability to work independentlyOrganized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillProficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directionsPersonal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft OfficeWorking ConditionsStationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours.Operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficientlyOccasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouchRequired to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs.Heavy microscopic workThe ability to observe details at close rangeExtended hours may be neededLaboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPEPotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
