Electrical Engineer

6 Month Contract Remote Job Overview We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience designing data center and mission-critical facilities. This role is responsible for leading the design of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems for large-scale greenfield and retrofit projects while collaborating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with strong technical expertise in industrial facility and data center electrical design. Responsibilities Design electrical power systems for data centers and other complex industrial facilities. Develop construction documents for medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems. Design UPS, emergency power, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communications systems. Perform electrical engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selection. Conduct quality reviews of engineering design packages to ensure accuracy and compliance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to establish project requirements and deliver high-quality designs. Interface directly with clients, owners, and contractors throughout the design and construction process. Provide engineering support during construction, including field visits and issue resolution. Participate in the design of both new greenfield facilities and retrofit projects. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality while ensuring successful project delivery. Lead and mentor Electrical Engineers on project teams. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum of 6 years of experience designing medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems and building electrical systems. Minimum of 3 years of experience designing data center facilities. Experience with campus-style power distribution systems. Extensive experience in industrial facility electrical design. Experience designing large-scale projects on greenfield sites. Working knowledge of Revit or other BIM software. Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code). Proficient computer skills and familiarity with engineering design software. Ability to lead project teams and coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines. Strong communication and client-facing skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hyperscale data centers or AI Factory projects. Experience supporting construction activities and field engineering. Strong project management and technical leadership skills.
