Sewing Machine Operator

6051 North Lee Highway Fairfield VA 24435 UTS Systems is a rapidly growing defense contractor that manufactures expeditionary shelter systems for the United States Military and our Allied Forces. We are seeking high quality and energetic production personnel to work at our Fairfield, VA headquarters in the areas of fabric welding, sewing, and shelter integration with on-the-job training. Sewing Machine Operator: The Sewing Department at UTS is a high energy group where speed and consistency are key. In this position, you will produce military component parts for shelters from various types of vinyl fabric. Ability to lift 40 lb. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work alone and as a member of a team. Aptitude to learn on the job and follow the manufacturing processes. Ability to communicate and solve problems with team members. Essential Duties: Operate sewing machine equipment. Perform all sewing assembly operations. Read and understand written instructions and follow markers and drawings. Perform basic sewing machine cleaning and maintenance. Always keep the work area clean. Follows safety protocol. Maintain positive attitude and willingness to perform other duties assigned by management. No experience necessary.
