Senior Data Analyst - Metrics & Insights (Hybrid)
HII-Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Data Analyst to join a data analysis team to provide data related support, data investigation, research, data management and data reporting for a Government security organization, whose mission is to protect our nation's critical assets through enterprise risk management, continuous innovation, and excellence in mission performance and customer service. The team will provide direct support our Government customer's metrics data group in identifying and reviewing the types of metrics pulled, utilized, and needed across their organization today. This position will be performed at the customer site in Quantico, VA with a hybrid work schedule that includes telework. Come join our growing team today!What you will doIn coordination with the newly established customer's metrics group, review the types of metrics pulled/utilized/needed across the customer organization todayWork with a variety of data sources - extracting knowledge and actionable information from datasetsBuild and flesh out data models for use in regular and/or automated reporting and analysisDevelop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to access data from the customer's systems, define measurement standards, and generate ad-hoc and recurring reports and visualizations targeted to customer's operators, organizational leaders, and external (DoD/Government/Industry) stakeholders on customer's performancePartner with customer senior leadership and Chief Strategy Office staff to refine Balanced Score Card for the organization, assisting the Government, as needed, as they establish a tracking mechanism with leading and lagging indicators to demonstrate progress against their strategic goalsConsolidate customer metrics responses and create visual representations of the results for submission to customer executive leadershipCollect information within the customer organization and, as appropriate, from emerging mission areas, and provide recurring and ad-hoc metrics reporting support for stakeholdersConduct trend analysis to identify challenges, shortfalls, or emerging risks and work with the applicable customer stakeholders to identify the root cause for the significant changePlan and schedule work in such a manner that it promotes a smooth flow and even distribution of activities to ensure effective use of organization resources, achieve organization goals and objectives, and meets customer needsAs metrics are collected, provide any suggestions or recommendations (i.e., automation tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI), etc.) to increase efficiency and/or analysis capabilities for the customer's leadership's future consideration, if appropriateWork closely, collaboratively and communicate effectively with all members of the project team including government and contractorsAdditional duties as assigned or requiredWhat we are looking for6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experienceDemonstrated working experience in technical data analysis, data science, and/or data warehousing with proven business analysis experiencePassionate about data, analyzing business needs, detail-oriented, and avid problem solver (breaking down problems and developing analytical insights)The business sense to understand why data is being pulled and if it is accurateAbility to build tabular and/or visualization reports as neededCritical thinker with the ability to work independently and with team membersStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent presentation, writing, and MS Excel skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with SharePointClearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret ClearanceBonus points for...Passion for automation, insights, innate curiosity, and a deep desire to find ways to create valueExperience with complex data environments and understanding of data structuresExperience with data visualizationKnowledge of MS Teams as a collaborative toolPhysical RequirementsJob performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.Why HIIWe build the world's most powerful, survivable naval ships and defense technology solutions that safeguard our seas, sky, land, space and cyber.
