Our finance and accounting team plays a central role in supporting our investing activities and the financial performance of our portfolio companies.Position OverviewThe Corporate Controller is a senior accounting leader responsible for all accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls at the holding company level and across LPW’s operating businesses. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual serves as the technical accounting authority for the firm and acts as a key liaison between the holding company and its portfolio companies on financial matters. The ideal candidate combines deep technical accounting expertise with the commercial acumen and communication skills to operate effectively in a fast-paced private equity environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & AccountingOwn the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for the holding company and its subsidiariesManage the general ledger, chart of accounts, and month-end close processesPrepare and review financial reporting packages for senior management and the board of directorsCoordinate and lead the annual audit process with external auditors, serving as the primary point of contactMaintain compliance with US GAAP and relevant reporting standards; research and document positions on complex or non-routine accounting mattersPortfolio Company OversightOversee business unit-level accounting functions, ensuring compliance with LPW policies and driving continuous improvement to site-level accounting performanceReview and consolidate financial statements submitted by portfolio companies; identify and resolve accounting inconsistenciesSupport portfolio company finance teams on technical accounting questions, purchase accounting, and carve-out financials related to acquisitions and divestituresLead purchase price allocation (PPA) analyses and opening balance sheet preparation following new acquisitionsMonitor intercompany transactions, eliminations, and related-party disclosuresInternal Controls & ComplianceDesign, implement, and maintain a robust policy library and internal controls framework across the holding company and its subsidiariesEnsure timely and accurate preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns in coordination with external tax advisorsOversee treasury operations, cash management, and banking relationships at the holding company levelMaintain compliance with debt covenants and prepare required lender reporting packagesProcess & SystemsLead continuous improvement initiatives around the close process, financial reporting, and management reportingEvaluate, implement, and optimize accounting systems and ERP platforms across the portfolio as neededBuild scalable processes to support the firm’s growth through acquisitions and organic expansionLeadershipManage accounting function at the holding and portfolio company levelsPartner with FP&A leadership to drive stability, predictability, accuracy, and visibility into the Company’s resultsWork closely with the CFO, private equity deal teams, legal, and outside advisors on transactions, financings, and special projectsServe as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership at the LPW level and across LPW’s subsidiaries on financial mattersQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCPA license (active)8–12 years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm) and industry rolesPrior experience in a private equity–backed company, PE holding company, or PE fund accounting environmentDeep knowledge of US GAAP, including consolidations, purchase accounting (ASC 805), and debt accountingProven ability to manage an audit and work directly with external auditors and tax advisorsStrong Excel skills; proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Datarails, Epicor, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Dynamics)PreferredMBA or advanced degree in Finance or AccountingDeep experience in manufacturing environments, including expertise in product costing and manufacturing accounting conceptsExperience with multi-entity consolidations across several operating subsidiariesExposure to private equity reporting standardsFamiliarity with covenant compliance in leveraged buyout contextsExperience supporting M&A transactions, including due diligence and integrationCompetenciesHigh integrity and attention to detail with a commitment to accuracyComfortable operating in ambiguity and managing competing priorities under time pressureStrong written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholdersProactive manager with track record of clearly setting expectations and delivering feedbackCollaborative team player who can also operate independently and take ownershipProactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindsetCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary commensurate with experienceAnnual performance bonusEquity opportunity (role-dependent)Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, and paid time offLPW Group is an equal opportunity employer.
