Middle School Mathematics Teacher

The district promotes a supportive community where every individual is recognized and empowered to succeed.Role Description The Middle School Mathematics Teacher will design and deliver engaging math instruction aligned with district and state standards for middle school learners. This full-time, on-site role is based in Indianapolis, IN, and involves planning daily lessons, facilitating classroom activities, and using a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs. The teacher will assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction based on data. Responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, participating in professional learning communities, and communicating regularly with families and caregivers. The teacher will also maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment, uphold school policies, and support school-wide initiatives and student activities as needed.QualificationsStrong content knowledge and instructional skills in Mathematics and Mathematics Education suitable for middle school learners.Experience or training in Middle School teaching practices, including adolescent development and classroom management strategies.Ability to design, implement, and refine Curriculum Development in mathematics that aligns with standards and supports diverse learners.Proficiency in teaching Algebra concepts and related middle school math topics in clear, accessible ways.Valid teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Mathematics or Middle School Education (state of Indiana or transferable license preferred).Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues.Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices.Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree or additional endorsements are a plus.
