About Equine OutreachEquine Outreach, Inc. (EOI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit horse rescue organization based in Central Oregon, dedicated to giving horses in need a second chance. We believe in creating a better world for horses — one rescue at a time — and we’re looking for a passionate leader to help us grow that mission.The OpportunityWe are seeking a compassionate and driven Executive Director to champion our cause. This is a volunteer (unpaid) role offering a meaningful opportunity to serve the Central Oregon community, make a direct impact on the lives of horses, and help shape the future of our organization. Time commitment is approximately 10–15 hours per week.Responsibilities• Support the Ranch Manager in overseeing daily operations, including supply procurement• Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to maintain a safe and functional ranch environment• Assist the Volunteer Manager in recruiting, training, and retaining quality volunteers• Manage equine intake, adoption, and foster processes• Lead fundraising efforts including grant writing, fundraising campaigns, and events• Oversee administrative execution and day-to-day organizational operations, ensuring tasks, communications, and processes are carried out efficiently and consistently• Ensure organizational policies are consistently implemented and followed• Attend board meetings and provide updates on operations, finances, and organizational matters• Manage emergency situations at the ranch with sound judgment and horse welfare as the priority• Support the Board with administrative tasks including vehicle registrations and community memberships Ideal Candidate• Proven leadership experience in business, nonprofit, or community service settings• Genuine passion for equine welfare and animal rescue• Strong fundraising and/or grant writing skills• Ability to articulate a compelling vision and inspire staff, volunteers, and donors• Organized, dependable, and mission-driven Why Equine Outreach?Joining EOI means becoming part of a community that values compassion, dedication, and service.
