Los Angeles, CA | $50 - $55 an hour | Contract-to-hire| Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)Where Financial Precision Meets Real-World Purpose.Our mission-driven, long-established nonprofit client is seeking a Grants & Contracts Budget Manager who can take full ownership of a complex grants portfolio, keep financials airtight, and partner with program leadership to ensure every dollar is working as hard as it should.If you know nonprofit grants accounting cold, understand government contracting compliance, and take pride in reporting that's clean, accurate, and on time — keep reading.What You'll DriveOwn the BudgetBuild program budgets from the ground up, aligned with grant and contract requirementsMonitor monthly actual expenditures against budgets and propose modifications to keep programs in complianceLead monthly close activities — accruals, adjusting entries, reconciliations, and discrepancy correctionsDeliver accurate, timely closeout reports and financial documentation for fundersControl the Billing CyclePrepare and submit monthly invoices and payment requests to funding agenciesMaintain organized, audit-ready digital records for all contracts, modifications, and correspondenceEnsure financial records comply with GAAP and government grant/contract regulationsSupport year-end processes and external auditsLead Through ExpertisePartner with Program Directors in regular budget review meetingsEnsure compliance with federal OMB Uniform Guidance and contracting requirementsDocument and improve accounting procedures to strengthen grants management operationsContribute to agency-wide operations improvement initiativesWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Accounting or related field5+ years of relevant accounting experience — nonprofit or government contracting environment requiredWorking knowledge of federal OMB Uniform Guidance and federal contracting rules (a strong plus)Proficiency in NetSuite and ConcurAdvanced Excel skills — VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, the worksSharp analytical instincts with exceptional attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities, hit deadlines, and adapt when things shiftClear, confident communicator with colleagues, program teams, and leadership alikeWhy This Role?Our client has been transforming lives across Southern California for nearly a century.
