Along with our interior design studio, Wimberly Interiors, we specialize in hospitality, gaming + entertainment, urban + mixed-use, and high-end residential design.WATG is hiring a Project Architect for our office in Tustin, California.Licensed Architect accountable to the Project Manager and Project Designer for project performance and team communications. The Project Architect is responsible for project deliverables, the technical content of documents, the implementation of comments, QA reviews, and the coordination of disciplines, including consultants. The Project Architect directs the work assignments of a diverse project team as well as coordinates with clients, consultants, and contractors. The Project Architect reports to the Project Director.Responsibilities include:Ensuring the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed project documentationMonitoring the design process from the conceptual phase through construction administration, and validating that the design idea is consistent and properly executedResponsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of a project or projects, including the coordination of drawings and specificationsChecking completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracyCoordinating use and tracking shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultantsWriting reports and documentation to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutionsPreparing meeting minutes of consultant coordination meetingsManaging project documents and identifying the sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM)Managing standardsFostering and maintaining a collaborative professional working relationship with the project teamCoordinating communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements, providing support when necessaryManaging construction detail documentation so that it conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standardsSupervising the preparation of technical drawings by other less senior-level architects or team membersPreparing meeting minutesPerforming as team leader on certain projectsMentoring and directing the work of team members, reviewing their work, and providing development opportunitiesIncorporating Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projectsFostering a green workplace through sustainable work practicesQualifications include:Bachelor's degree in ArchitectureProfessional license requiredEnvironmental accreditation preferred10+ years of experience designing small to mid-size architectural projects, including urban and resort hotelsProficiency in technical skills, including AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling software, such as Rhino and SketchUpSketching skills requiredKnowledge of architectural building systems, integrated design, trends, construction methodology, QA/QC process, CA process, building codes, and the ability to research and apply to technical documentsExperienced in client management, project management, and negotiationsAbility to work in a team environment and supervise othersAbility to effectively meet deadlinesHighly effective written and verbal communication and presentation skillsSalary range: $100,000-$120,000 per yearWATG is an Equal Opportunity Employer
