The RoleThe Staff Analyst will report to the Director of Strategic Finance and serve as a key member of the AI Group (AIG) Finance team. This role acts as a finance partner to the AI and GPU business, supporting Cloud and Hyperscaler engagements, Contract Review Board (CRB) management, and deal-related financial analysis.The position sits at the intersection of finance and business operations—providing financial modeling, contract analysis, and reporting to support commercial decision-making. This role will work closely with Business Development, Sales, Legal, Accounting, and cross-functional teams to evaluate deal economics, ensure alignment on financial assumptions, and support execution through the deal lifecycle.This is a high-impact, execution-focused role requiring strong modeling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.The PersonWe are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented finance professional who is comfortable working directly with business partners on commercial and operational topics. The ideal candidate brings strong financial modeling skills, a solid understanding of core finance and accounting concepts, and the ability to translate contract terms into financial outcomes.You are a self-starter with a strong ownership mindset, capable of balancing structured FP&A responsibilities with deal-driven analysis.The successful candidate communicates clearly, builds strong relationships, and thrives in a dynamic environment where priorities shift and timelines are often compressed.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with Business Development and Sales to support Cloud and Hyperscaler deals, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business case supportProvide financial support through the deal lifecycle, including pricing analysis, investment tracking, and evaluation of commercial termsOwn and manage the Contract Review Board (CRB) process from a finance perspective, including coordinating reviews, preparing materials, and ensuring financial risks and impacts are clearly understood and communicatedReview and interpret customer contracts and deal terms to assess financial implications and ensure alignment with internal assumptions and policiesBuild and maintain financial models to evaluate deal economics, profitability, and key sensitivitiesPartner with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure appropriate financial treatment and alignment on assumptionsDevelop and deliver reporting and presentations to support deal approvals, business reviews, and leadership updatesCreate and improve tools, templates, and processes to drive consistency and scalability in deal analysis and CRB workflowsPerform ad hoc analysis and provide insights to support business decision-making in a fast-paced environmentPreferred ExperienceProven experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or related rolesStrong financial modeling skills with advanced proficiency in ExcelExperience supporting customer deals, pricing, or contract-related financial analysisFamiliarity with contract review and interpreting financial/commercial termsWorking knowledge of accounting concepts (e.g., revenue recognition, accruals)Strong communication and presentation skills, including PowerPoint, with the ability to synthesize analysis into clear insightsSemiconductor, cloud, or broader technology industry experience preferredAcademic CredentialsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fieldMBA, CPA, or CFA is a plus, but not requiredLOCATION: San Jose, CAThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
