Connect with NRG on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesExecute and manage nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other similar activities related to the purchase and sale of natural gas behind various LDCs, including activity on LDC websites and NRG’s ETRM platformsAdvise and assist the trading team regarding the optimal use of transportation and storage assets while balancing retail poolsGain a complete understanding of the operational and commercial aspects of LDC tariffsBecome proficient in the use of internal and external systems for the timely execution of nominations across multiple EBBs.Develop/Maintain trusted partnerships with all parties in the supply chain including schedulers, traders, LDC reps and internal stakeholdersAssist in the automation of scheduling processesAssist Technology teams with testing and application resolutionProvide ad-hoc reporting where neededWorking Conditions24/7 availability in an hourly deadline-oriented environmentWeekend On-Call: On a rotational basis, remain on call on assigned weekends and holidays to provide scheduling and balancing servicesPeriodically travel as business requiresMinimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma with 2 or more years of gas scheduling experience or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityStrong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skillsMust have advanced computer system skills in ExcelMust be comfortable with technology projects and initiatives and have aptitude to quickly learn new technical softwareAbility to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with competing deadlinesAs a part of the NRG commitment to the health, safety and well-being of our employees, customers and the community, this role requires weekly COVID-19 testing for employees who are not fully vaccinatedPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in a field of finance, math, economics, computer science or business related fieldTwo years or more of experience with natural gas scheduling or within the Energy and/or commodity-based industryExperience with ETRM systemsExperience with time series statistical analysisExperience with data analysis, reporting, forecasting, and/or accounting Additional Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrate history of a commitment to excellence in a team environmentPossess a strong sense of initiative and always striving to deliver excellenceStrong analytical and detail-oriented skillsStrong communication and Team oriented skillsAbility to work efficiently under pressure in a heavy deadline-oriented environmentThe base salary range for this position is: $69,760 - $115,080. The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition the position may be eligible to participate in the benefits program which include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending accounts.NRG Energy is committed to a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
