Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. 750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PICU Job Details: • Work in a 14-22 bed pediatric intensive care unit on the 5th floor • Patient ratios are 4:1 for medical/surgical patients • Day shift includes charge nurse and 4-6 nurses (prefer charge nurse free with unit secretary) • Night shift includes charge nurse and 4-6 nurses (prefer charge nurse free) • Required certifications: Meditech • Typical procedures include cleft palate repair, appendectomy, chest tube management, lumbar punctures • Manage seizures, noninvasive cardiology cases (no neurosurgery or stroke) • Currently provides services for neuro, ortho, general surgery, thoracic cases including thoracotomy/thoracoscopy and pectus bar implants • No removal of foreign body from airway • Float to NICU level 1 or 2 only • Work 4 weekend days every 4 weeks with no call responsibilities • Dress code requires royal blue scrubs • Supportive and collaborative team environment where everyone helps everyone Facility: This specialized women's and children's hospital provides comprehensive pediatric intensive care services with a focus on creating a supportive and collaborative team environment.
