About The RoleAs a Senior Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade microservices and cloud-based data integration solutions. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, business stakeholders, data engineers, and cross-functional delivery teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications for The Hartford.In This Role, You WillDesign, develop, and maintain Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs to support enterprise business applications.Build and support AWS Glue ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data across multiple enterprise systems and data platforms.Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions integrated with cloud and on-premises environments.Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Participate in code reviews, testing activities, deployments, and production support to maintain application reliability and quality.Troubleshoot application and data processing issues while driving performance optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure adherence to software development best practices, security standards, and enterprise architecture guidelines.Work ModelWe believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Rest assured, we will always be clear about role expectations.Please note that this position is not eligible for visa transfer or sponsorship now or at any time in the future.What You Need To Have To Be Considered8+ years of experience in Java application development with a strong focus on enterprise solutions.Extensive hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development.Strong experience developing and supporting AWS Glue ETL workflows and data integration solutions.Experience working with cloud-native architectures and AWS services.Strong understanding of microservices architecture, design patterns, and scalable application development.Experience working with relational databases and data integration technologies.Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and modern SDLC practices.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.These will help you stand outExperience with additional AWS services such as Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and Step Functions.Experience within Insurance, Financial Services, or highly regulated industries.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code.Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, and analytics platforms.Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior developers.We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways.
