Job DescriptionAs an Instructional Assistant with The Menta Education Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school.Tempe SELF-A Program : Tempe McClintock CampusHours 7:30 am to 3 pm Mon-Fri, following a 10-Month School CalendarBenefits & Paid Benefit Time OffResponsibilitiesProvide academic support within the classroomManage classroom behaviorsReport behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staffImplement and maintain behavioral program policies and dataMaintain classroom order and safety (Security)Provide general supervision of students inside the school settingAssist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behaviorMaintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or to be a safety concern and correct and report these conditions Respond to emergency situationsProvide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviorsThink quickly, independently, and tactfullyQualificationsBachelor's Degree preferably in a discipline such as Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Kinesiology, Health & Wellness or a related field.Registered Behavior Technician or Applied Behavior Analysis is helpfulPsychology or Mental Healthcare background is helpfulMilitary Veterans are encouraged to applyAbility to operate tactfully under stressFlexibility to change in routinesAt least 23 years of ageAble to work with high-risk special needs studentsGood driving record and willing and able to drive student van is strongly preferredBenefitsMedical, Dental, & Vision Benefit Plans10 Month School Position with 12 Month Semi-Monthly Pay (if sub-certified)Generous Paid Time Off Benefits403(b) Investment OptionsTempe McClintock S.E.L.F.
