Senior Counsel, Funds
A leading global multi-strategy investment firm with a multi-decade track record, managing tens of billions of dollars across a diverse range of strategies, is seeking a Funds Attorney to serve as its most senior funds legal counsel globally. Based in New York and reporting directly to the Global General Counsel, this individual will own the full spectrum of US fund-related legal matters. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in private funds and investment management regulation, is comfortable operating with autonomy, and thrives within a high-performing international legal team.Responsibilities:Advise on the structuring, formation, and ongoing operation of private investment funds, including onshore and offshore vehiclesDraft, negotiate, and review fund documentation including limited partnership agreements, subscription documents, side letters, and investor disclosure materialsManage fund launches, closings, restructurings, and wind-downs, coordinating with external counsel and service providers across multiple jurisdictionsAdvise on regulatory matters including Advisers Act, CFTC/NFA requirementsSupport investor relations with due diligence questionnaires, RFPs, and legal queries from institutional investors and allocatorsRequirements :JD from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentialsAdmission to the New York State Bar (in good standing)6 to 9 years of relevant legal experience, with significant time spent at a leading law firm and/or in-house at a hedge fund or private fundDeep expertise in fund formation and investment management law
