We’re looking to expand our team across the board.York Space Systems seeks an experienced and proven professional to join our fast-growing company that is disrupting and changing the space industry. The Business Development Director will spearhead efforts to secure new business opportunities with a focus on the missions within Albuquerque, NM space customer set. This role requires a strategic, innovative thinker with established relationships in the aerospace and defense community, exceptional multi-tasking skills, and a proven ability to drive business growth. They will cultivate and sustain customer relationships to shape business opportunities aligned with York’s unique space capabilities and business model. They will engage across the space industry ecosystem, including government stakeholders, leveraging customer knowledge and contacts to drive success in winning new business.The candidate must navigate the dynamic space industry, develop targeted relationship-building strategies. They will also work tactically while managing key priorities within tight timelines, ensuring accountability of their actions, and maximizing business impact.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships with government and industry customers to drive strategic growthLeverage established customer relationships to advance business opportunities aligned with York’s space solutionsEngage in industry day events, local activities, and customer visitsIdentify high-value market, government budgets, and customer opportunities through market and competitive analysisProvide recommendations and present business development opportunities to pursueProvide regular updates to guide team strategy and manage the opportunity pipelineCollaborate with functional leadership (e.g., CTO, LT, Contracts) to align York offerings with customer needsDevelop innovative capture strategies to secure new business; provide the team with win themes for proposals and white papersWilling to travel as needed to visit space customers and attend industry events on a regular basisQualificationsExperience in the space domain and solid technical understanding of space platformsEstablished network of customer relationships within the space communityExcellent business / strategic acumen and instinctFlexible and adaptable to changing priorities and workloadsExcellent presentation and customer-facing skillsAbility to travel an estimated 25% to visit space customers, attend industry events, and collaborate with team membersU.S. CitizenshipAbility to obtain security clearanceMust reside in the Albuquerque metropolitan area Benefits100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance (subject to spousal surcharge).Company holidays, floating holidays, and sick time.Unlimited PTO.Generous 401(k) match.Participation in our discretionary annual bonus and equity programs.In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required.
