Job Title: Braze Alloy Applicator / Assembly TechnicianPosition SummaryThe Braze Alloy Applicator / Assembly Technician is responsible for the precise preparation and application of brazing alloys and assembly of components prior to the brazing process. This role ensures proper joint preparation, alloy placement, and assembly alignment to meet quality and engineering requirements. This role will also perform other assembly and adhesive related tasks. Accuracy and consistency in this position are critical to achieving high first-pass yield and minimizing rework.Key ResponsibilitiesApply brazing alloy (paste, wire, preforms, or shims) to components per work instructions and engineering specificationsPrepare parts for brazing, including cleaning, degreasing, and surface preparationAssemble components and fixtures to ensure proper joint fit-up and alignmentMeasure and control alloy quantity and placement to ensure proper flow during brazingRead and interpret blueprints, travelers, and work instructionsMaintain proper gap tolerances and joint clearances for optimal brazing resultsPerform visual inspection of assemblies prior to brazing to ensure readinessIdentify and report improper fit-up, contamination, or defects before parts move to brazingHandle and store brazing materials according to specifications (temperature, shelf life, etc.)Maintain traceability of materials and jobs per company and quality requirementsWork closely with brazing technicians to ensure assemblies meet process needsMaintain a clean, organized workstation (5S standards)Follow all safety procedures, especially when handling chemicals, solvents, and alloysRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent1–3 years of manufacturing, assembly, or prep work experienceAbility to read basic blueprints and work instructionsStrong attention to detail and consistencyGood manual dexterity and steady hand for precise applicationAbility to use hand tools and basic measuring devicesPreferred QualificationsExperience with brazing prep or welding prep processesFamiliarity with braze alloys (silver, nickel, copper-based, etc.)Experience in aerospace, medical, or high-precision manufacturingExperience working with ERP systemsUnderstanding of joint design and capillary action in brazingPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit or stand for extended periodsAbility to perform repetitive fine-motor tasksAbility to lift up to 30–50 lbs as neededComfortable working with chemicals, solvents, and PPEWork EnvironmentManufacturing / production floorExposure to solvents, cleaning agents, and industrial materialsPPE required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.)Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action EmployerIt is the established policy of Precise Metal Products, to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified persons and to administer all aspects and conditions of employment without regard to race, religion, color, sex, gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy, age, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, severe/morbid obesity, medical condition, military or veteran status, genetic information, marital status, ethnicity, alienage or any other protected classification, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
