3rd shift position only, 11:00pm - 7:30am SummaryThe Shift Supervisor is responsible for the planning and execution of resources to achieve production objectives associated with the operating plan. Shift supervisors report to the Production Supervisor. A great shift supervisor ensures that all tasks are running smoothly and on time, and that end products are of acceptable quality.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for maintaining a safe working environmentResponsible for hiring/firing and discipline of personnel on shiftResponsible for maintenance of timecardsResponsible for properly utilizing labor to achieve production plansResponsible for accurate labor/production/scrap recording in IQMSResponsible for scanning and inventory accuracy at work centersResponsible for line clearance activities that occur on shiftResponsible for training to established procedures and verifying competence of operatorsResponsible for staff performance evaluationsResponsible for 5S of the work areasResponsible for communicating and achieving shift goals and objectives and maintain performance metrics as required to monitor resultsParticipate in continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvementsHelp develop, update and maintain work instructions, procedures, and documentation for the Quality Management SystemGenerate shop orders for mold repairs or maintenance in absence of planningOther responsibilities as required by SupervisorWhen quality issues arise, this position has the authority to stop the press if needed to conduct root cause analysisSupervisory ResponsibilitiesResponsible for training plans and programs for personnelQualifications Manufacturing supervision experience Clean background that meets FFL requirementsAble to utilize Outlook, Word and Excel effectivelyEducation And/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentInjection molding/plastics industry preferredMathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divideReasoning AbilityAbility to deal with ambiguous situations, make decisions and take charge of production situations with clear and calm demeanorCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsNone requiredPhysical DemandsExtended hours sitting and viewing a computer screen, repetitive hand and wrist movements.Standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds regularlyWork EnvironmentManufacturing environment with associated noises, smells and temperatures
