Sr Engineer (Systems Engineer)

Job SummarySeeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead integration, qualification, manufacturing, production transition, and fielding of APS technologies, including munitions, sensors, turrets, controls, and realtime software. The role involves coordination with foreign suppliers, vehicle primes, and U.S. military customers, and collaboration across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management. Responsibilities include system and subsystem architecture development, requirements and interface definition, verification planning, and support for vehicle integration, qualification testing, troubleshooting, reliability and safety analyses, logistics, training, and customer documentation. Domestic and international travel is required.Impact of the RoleRequires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplinesSolves complex problemsWorks independently, receives minimal guidanceMay lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for ongoing activities or objectivesActs as a resource for colleagues with less experienceConsistent exercise of discretion & judgmentEssential FunctionsApplies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies.Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems.Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects.Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects.Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.Additional ResponsibilitiesLeads full product lifecycle, from requirements and design to integration, verification, and support; creates and manages and validates requirement databases, verification methods, and traceability; plans and executes system integration and verification programs; develops system architecture and monitors performance; supports safety, reliability, logistics, and documentation; prepares technical materials; identifies design issues and performs FMEA.Required QualificationsAssociate's Degree and 5-7 years experienceEngineering degree requiredProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Preferred QualificationsPreferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or other closely related field.Oral and written communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, mathematical skills, computer skills, technical expertiseExperience in full lifecycle technology development in the Aerospace or Defense industryKnowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML tools such as Cameo for modeling of system and subsystem architecturesExperience in a technical leadership role, engaging directly with customers, and mentoring engineersAbility to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance is required; an existing clearance is strongly preferredPhysical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.Travel Requirements25-50% travel likely.Pay Range (USD)$90,763.00 - $122,797.00Pay Transparency StatementThe salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position.
