POSITION: Sr. Stress Analysis EngineerPAY: $65-90/hr. (DOE)BENEFITS: Medical insurance, sick leave as applicable by state law,LOCATION: RemoteDURATION: 6 month contractEXTENSION/CONVERSION: EligibleROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESWe are seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer for one of our most valued space exploration clients. You will support the analysis and validation of mechanical systems, ground support equipment, test hardware, and transportation/handling tooling. This position is responsible for performing structural, functional, and dynamic analyses to ensure hardware integrity, operational performance, and compliance with applicable engineering and safety requirements. This is an immediate need - and we are looking for individuals who are available for 100% remote work.Perform structural and functional analyses to validate system performance under operational and transient conditions.Evaluate mechanism behavior, timing, clearances, and load paths during critical events and dynamic scenarios.Assess performance under nominal and off-nominal operating conditions.Analyze test fixtures, support structures, and instrumentation hardware subjected to static and dynamic loading.Verify the capability of test equipment and associated interfaces under mechanical, fluid, and electrical operating conditions.Support qualification and verification activities for ground systems and hardware.Perform analyses of support structures, mechanical assemblies, and integrated systems subjected to operational, thermal, and environmental loads.Evaluate stiffness, strength, and stability requirements to ensure structural integrity and performance.Develop hand calculations and finite element models to support design verification and validation.Perform static, dynamic, thermal, and load path analyses.Document analysis results in formal reports supporting design reviews and hardware release activities.Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and drafting teams to optimize structural performance and support design decisions.Support troubleshooting, failure investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, specifications, and safety requirements.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering.Experience with stress analysis tools and methodologies.Experience performing structural analysis using both classical hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA).Proficiency with industry-standard analysis tools such as ANSYS, Nastran, Abaqus, or equivalent.Knowledge of structural analysis methods including: Static analysis, Dynamic analysis, Thermal analysis, Load path evaluation, Strength and stiffness assessmentsWHY AVERRO?#1 VENDORHIGH CONVERSION RATE: 80+% of our placements result in extension and/or conversion to FTE.BENEFITS: We offer premium benefits to our contractors.BEST IN CLASS RECRUITERS: Honest, responsive, and very knowledgeable recruiters – we value our relationship with you!FAST TRACK INTO SPACE: Fastest route into space industry – fast moving as well as simpler interview process than FTE hiring.VETERAN OWNED: We support and place a high number of veterans.View our privacy policy here: https://www.averro.com/legal/privacy-policy#AEROAVERRO
