Familiarity with VA Master Specifications, NFPA 70 (NEC), and federal safety protocols is essential.Functional Responsibility:Perform skilled electrical work on a federal construction site, including installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical and Telecommunications systems in accordance with VA specifications and federal standards. Responsibilities include:Installing EMT, RMC, and PVC conduit systems across multiple floors and fire-rated assembliesSupporting low-voltage systems (fire alarm, nurse call, access control) in coordination with specialty tradesInstalling cable tray, conduit, and support systems for low-voltage telecommunications equipmentReading and interpreting telecom plans, electrical one-lines, riser diagrams, and VA construction drawingsEnsuring all work complies with NEC, VA design guides, and infection control risk assessment (ICRA) protocolsParticipating in daily safety briefings and maintaining clean, hazard-free work zonesDocumenting as-built conditions and redlining drawings for turnover packagesSupporting commissioning, testing, and final inspection walkthroughs with VA CORs and QA/QC teamsMinimum Education:High School Diploma or GEDQualifications:Journeyman Level Electrician certification desiredDemonstrated experience on VA, DoD, or other federal healthcare projectsProficient in conduit bending, wire pulling, panel terminations, and equipment groundingFamiliar with seismic anchoring, bonding, and bracing of electrical systemsSkilled in QA/QC documentation, punch list resolution, and redline markupsAble to work in occupied healthcare environments with sensitivity to patient safety and infection controlUnderstanding of VA Master Construction Specifications and ANSI/TIA-606-C labeling standardsExperience with multi-trade coordination and adherence to federal construction sequencing and phasing plansRequired:OSHA 30 Certification (Construction Industry)Current TB test results (IGRA)Valid driver’s license and reliable transportationAbility to pass federal background screening for site accessFamiliarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash PPE, and NFPA 70E safety practicesDesired Certifications:CPR/First AidNFPA 70E Electrical Safety TrainingManufacturer training on lighting control systems, switchgear, or backup power systemsUSACE EM 385-1-1 Safety Training (preferred for federal sites)Scissor Lift certificationApplicants for U.S. based positions with MILVETS Systems Technology, Inc. must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
