Job SummaryBusiness Services Representative bills all patient accounts to the appropriate insurance company or payor in an efficient, accurate and timely manner according to payor regulations, and, as appropriate, provide assistance regarding patient bills, customer (patients, families, physician offices, review organizations, insurance companies) in a polite and professional manner. Must have knowledge of self-pay/collections processing.Key Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesBilling Accounts Responsibilities: Establishes the correct payor and address. Requests and obtains required information (medical records, progress notes, accident information). Reviews for accuracy of codes (revenue, CPT, and diagnosis) according to payor. Reviews ERAs forms for discrepancies Reconciles cash box daily Follows up on denied or unpaid claims Generates patient statements and explains charges or payment plansCustomer Service Responsibilities: Answers phone within three (3) rings Provides assistance and accurate answers to patient questions Research patient complaints with involved department, responding to patients with satisfactory resolution within one (1) week or providing updates to patients and continuing researching a resolutionCustomer Service Responsibilities:Follow any job-related instructions and perform any other job-related duties requested by the supervisor/director.Job RequirementsRequired Education and Licenses: High School GraduateRequired Work Experience:At least six (6) months working in a billing or insurance company environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, email composition, business correspondence, and general office skills is required.Knowledge of basic office functions, including message-taking, cash drawer balancing, and data entry.Strong attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and excellent customer service skills in an office environment.Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:Exceptional customer service, written and verbal communication skills.Positive attitude and commitment to the organization’s values and behavioral standards.Ability to work collaboratively, exceed expectations, and maintain a professional demeanor.Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Proficiency with computer systems and multi-line phone systems.Adaptability to changing workflows and situations.Preferred Qualifications:Associates degree preferredEducation or experience in medical office work, referrals, or billing strongly preferred.Functional DemandsPopulation(s) Served:This role serves diverse populations, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as individuals of varying genders, races, ethnicities, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Physical Demands:Fast-paced office environment requiring multitasking and prioritization.Light lifting (
