Registered Dental Hygienist
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Administer local anesthesia -Monitor nitrous oxide as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Dentrix-dental software system
- Assist the dentist during procedures, including suctioning and passing instruments
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique in all procedures
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care
Qualifications:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proficiency in using dental software systems-Dentrix - Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry preferred
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and maintaining accurate records
- Experience working in a dental office setting preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients on oral health care
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
