Range Systems Supervisor - Communications & Timing
Amentum is seeking a Range Systems Supervisor – Communications & Timing for the Space Force Range Contract at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL.Essential FunctionsProvide leadership and direction for personnel responsible for operating and maintaining Communications Systems located and associated with Cape Canaveral Space Force StationResponsible for staff scheduling to include: work assignments, training, employee vacations, overtime assignments and shift rotationsAssist employees with problem resolution, seek interpretation of company policies as required, hold site safety meetings, and enforce safety regulationsEnsure mission equipment is properly maintained in accordance with the Integrated Organizational and Depot Maintenance Plan (IODMP)Ensure adequate operational spares, supplies and consumables are on hand to support O&M tasks and objectivesOversee training to ensure qualified personnel are available to support scheduled operations in accordance with the Operations and Maintenance Qualification and Proficiency (OMQP) ProgramOversee the setup and operation of mission equipment to ensure all requirements are satisfied according to mission documentationOversee Engineering tasks assigned to Range Systems Communication technicians and assigned System Maintenance Engineers at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Monitor system performance during operations and ensure status reporting is accomplished in accordance with SFRC Operating Instruction (SOI) for Reporting Range System Status During Launch Operations and Mission Rehearsals and daily status reporting to Communications Mission Control (MCC)Facilitate expeditious resolution of anomalies that occur during launch operationsContinually assess system capability with regard to emerging customer requirements and develop Requirement Statements when necessary to ensure future mission successPursue initiatives and activities to improve the quality, efficiencies, and timeliness of work centers and the Section solutions, products or servicesParticipate in engineering project design reviews, integration and acceptance testing to help ensure quality product deliveryResponsible for meeting department productivity and quality goalsAssist in the preparation of mission cost estimates and variance analysis when necessaryParticipate in quality reviews for mission planning documentationVigorously pursues initiatives to improve the quality, efficiencies, and timeliness of enterprise solutions, products or servicesInnovates process improvement oriented towards ensuring contract compliance and fulfillment while devising and implementing process improvement methods derived from internal and external integrated process team actionsDevelop and integrate enterprise concepts and recommendations to capitalize on Cross Range best practices, efficiencies and standardizationPerform other duties as assignedRequired SkillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work well in fast paced and stressful environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to adapt to changing situationsStrong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environmentPossess leadership and supervisory skills that demonstrate, or indicate a high potential for successful direction of work centers of approximately 10-30 specialized technical personnel, and support personnel, both exempt and non-exempt; many represented under collective bargaining agreementsExhibits strong conflict management skillsAbility to exercise diplomacy within a team environmentSkilled at building teams with orientation towards group dynamics to create synergy with assigned personnel constantly evolving task lists, and short mission requirement timelines while balancing stringent contract requirementsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, a Technical Discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of experience with communications systemsGeneral understanding of the major components that make up Communications and Timing subsystemsProficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)Working knowledge of the capabilities and interconnectivity of Communications and Timing systems employed on the Eastern Range, preferredEastern Range operations and maintenance experience, preferredExperience working in a collective bargaining unit environment, preferredExperience with Eastern Range project integration, preferredExperience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures, preferredAbility to travel locally or outside the continental U.S. on occasion8140 certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification within six months of start dateThis position requires onsite work and is eligible for limited telecommuting. The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirementsMust be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenshipValid U.S. Driver’s LicenseValid U.S. Passport or ability to obtain oneCompensation Details:$80,000 to $90,000The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
