Elementary School Counselor

At CCSC, our school counselor supports students' academic achievement, social-emotional development, and postsecondaryreadiness through a comprehensive, student-centered counseling program. The counselor collaborates with students, educators, andadministrators to create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes student success and well-being.Student Support & Counseling:● Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.● Identify and respond to student needs related to mental health, attendance, behavior, and crisis situations.● Develops and implements prevention and intervention programs aligned with school and district goals.● Assist students with goal setting and progress monitoring.● Helps to provide small group and individual testing accommodations during standardized testing windows.● Interpret and use student data to guide counseling strategies and interventions.● Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and support staff to support student success.● Collaborate with community resources and outside agencies. (i.e. Valley Oaks, COACH Kids, HCCC, Food Bag Program,Thanksgiving meals, Christmas Assistance, Education Foundation, etc.)● Participate in multidisciplinary teams, including IEP, 504, and student support meetings.● Assist with McKinney-Vento and/or act as Liaison for the district.● Make referrals to internal and external support services as appropriate.● Advocate for students' academic and social-emotional needs.● Deliver classroom lessons on topics such as SEL, conflict resolutions, study skills, and career awareness.● Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with laws and ethical standards.● Evaluate and continuously improve the school counseling program.Contracted Days: 195 daysSalary: Based on the CCSC Master ContractEducation and Work Experience Qualifications:● Master's Degree in School Counseling.● Valid licensure as a School Counselor.● Knowledge of child and adolescent development.● Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Physical Requirements:● Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA,FMLA, and other federal, state andlocal standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards● Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.● Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.TRF, 401A, 403 B, Several Health Insurance Options, Vision Insurance, Dental Insurance, Wellness Clinic, Life Insurance,and Disability Insurance.
