Data Engineer

Job Title: Junior-Mid Data Engineer Experience: 2-5 years Location: Onsite in Abingdon (Remote option available) Job Description: Wize Solutions, a leading IT consulting firm based in Abingdon, VA, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support the Senior Power BI Engineer by ensuring the smooth flow of data between systems. Your role will involve developing and maintaining data pipelines, managing data integrity, and collaborating with senior team members to ensure that data models are properly structured for reporting and visualization. This role provides an excellent growth opportunity for a junior-to-mid-level engineer to work in a dynamic data environment and gain hands-on experience with Power BI, Microsoft Dataverse, and data pipeline management. Minimum Qualifications: (at least 2 year's experience applying these skills)Experience in working with SQL and relational databases.Basic understanding of data pipelines and data engineering concepts.Experience or familiarity with Microsoft Dataverse and pipeline development for data integration and processing.Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn new technologies, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem. Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with Power BI and Microsoft Dataverse is a plus but not required.Basic knowledge of Python or other scripting languages is desirable.Key Responsibilities:Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines to ensure timely data delivery for Power BI reporting and analytics.Work with SQL databases and Microsoft Dataverse to extract, transform, and load data for Power BI dashboards and other business needs.Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and quality by managing data integrity across different platforms.Collaborate with the Senior Power BI Engineer to build and optimize data models for efficient reporting.Document data flows and data dictionary to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing within the team.
