Visual Art Teacher, Rosemount High School (1.0 FTE) 2026-2027

Rosemount High School is one of the top high schools in Minnesota that serves approx. 2300 students in the east part of Rosemount - Apple Valley - Eagan School District (District 196). Our school’s athletic teams and fine arts programs consistently rank top in the state. Our visual arts program is growing and we are looking for talented artist educators to join our team.Positions Available:1.0 FTE - 3D Visual Art Teaching Position (Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, and Drawing)Job summary:Teach curriculum of Independent School District 196 and Rosemount High SchoolWork closely with the other Visual Art teacher and Performing Art colleagues in further developing curriculum, assessments, and fine art pathwaysHelp lead departmental activities, such as National Art Honor Society inductions and meetingsMaintain strong communication with staff, parents, and studentsCarry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract and school administrationQualifications:Required:Bachelor degree or higher in teacher licensure areaLicensed MN educator or ability to be licensed by time of employmentLove of teaching at the high school levelCommitment to educational equity and helping all students succeed academicallyDesire to be a part of an incredible school and instructional teamHighly Desired (but not required):Masters of Fine Arts or masters degree in a specific mediumExperience implementing Integrated Performance AssessmentsExperience teaching at the high school levelWillingness to assist and/or lead the National Art Honor SocietyExperience working with teaching artists, guest artists, and hosting residenciesExperience creating public art (murals, sculptures, etc. with a school community)Experience teaching in a 1:1 setting (iPads) and willingness to adapt to new technologies (teaching apps, Schoology, Infinite Campus, etc)Demonstrate the ability to be empathetic and supportive of all students while holding them to high expectationsCreative problem solver both in and out of the classroomExperience working on a team or with an academic Professional Learning Community (PLC)Experience making data based decisionsExperience teaching students with IEP and 504 adaptations and accommodations.Commitment to developing the world's best workforce/ESSA and closing the achievement and graduation gap.Experience working with diverse student populations.Multi-lingual
