Heavy Truck Driver

Audubon is currently seeking a Heavy Truck Driver to join our team in our Offsite Office. The Heavy Truck Driver will operate vehicles above 26000lb such as delivery vans, pickup trucks or box trucks to transport materials and equipment.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Prior training and/or experience with similar commercial equipment preferredExperience driving flat-beds, RGN/lowboy, dovetail trailersAbility to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment and vehicle at job sitesStart engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.Move heavy equipment to load and unload a haul trailer for transport.May service and make necessary adjustments for proper operation of equipment.Make necessary adjustment to equipment as needed.Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safetyParticipating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activitiesIdentifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditionsFollowing safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirementsEXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or general education degree (GED).Related trade school education is preferred.Three years' experience in the construction industry.Two years' experience as a Truck Driver.Must have or be able to obtain OSHA Construction Basic Plus Safety Training Card.Construction safety practices.In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to communicate and report effectively.Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
