PO & GL Coding Analyst

Data runs on STACK.The PositionThe Purchase Order (PO) & General Ledger (GL) Analyst is responsible for creating, reviewing, and managing purchase orders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. Also responsible for accurately reviewing, assigning, and validating accounting codes for financial transactions. This role ensures that all entries are properly classified in accordance with company policies, accounting standards, and reporting requirements. The analyst works closely with accounting, finance, and operational teams to maintain the integrity of the general ledger and support timely financial reporting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Create, review, and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and proceduresKey focus on ensuring GL coding is accurate and consistent, helping to eliminate downstream correctionsReview financial transactions and supporting documentation to assign appropriate general ledger codesEnsure accuracy and consistency in coding across departments and systemsAnalyze discrepancies, resolve coding errors, and recommend corrective actionsMaintain and update GL coding structures, hierarchies, and mappingsWork closely with PO requestors to educate on proper practicesCollaborate with Accounts Payable and other teams to ensure proper classification of expenses and revenuesCollaborate with procurement, finance, and operations teams to resolve discrepanciesCreate “coding keys” for each department to help guide them through the PO creation processCommunicate with vendors to confirm order details and issue resolutionSupport audits by providing documentation and explanations for coding decisionsEnsure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and contractual obligations Generate reports and perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, or inefficienciesRecommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in coding workflowsAssist with month-end close processes, including accruals and reportingGenerate reports and dashboards related to purchasing activity and performance metricsMonitor purchase orders to ensure timely closing and receiving.Assist with creating annual blanket POs for utility and other operating costsDevelop and maintain working relationships with departments across the entire company to help streamline and troubleshoot potential GL issuesTHE DETAILS: Location: Denver, CO – In Office 3 days, Work from Home 2 daysTravel: Minimal domestic travel required, 5-10%Benefits: Healthcare, Dental Care, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Leave ProgramsMust be eligible to work in the United StatesMust pass comprehensive background screeningMUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field2+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or GL-related workStrong understanding of general ledger structures and accounting principles (GAAP)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)High attention to detail and strong analytical skillsExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred SkillsKnowledge of procurement processes and supply chain operationsExperience with contract management and vendor negotiationsExperience with financial data mapping or chart of accounts managementKnowledge of automation tools or data processing systemsExperience in large, multi-entity or shared services environmentsCompensation Range$76,320.00 - $83,740.00This Might Be Right For You IfYou are a strong communicator, you are persuasive and clear, blending analytics with experience in decision-making.You do not get flustered easily.
