Advisory Board Members
The Advisory Board provides strategic guidance, subject-matter expertise, and community insight to support the mission and long-term sustainability of Gervonni Cares. Advisory Board members do not have fiduciary or legal governance responsibilities. Instead, they serve as trusted advisors to leadership and the Board of Governance. We are looking for grant writers, workforce development, fundraising development, and housing stability advisory boards.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvisory Board Members will:Provide professional expertise (e.g., housing, workforce development, education, finance, legal, philanthropy, marketing, or community engagement)Offer strategic advice on programs, partnerships, and organizational growthServe as ambassadors for Gervonni Cares within the communityAssist with relationship-building, introductions, and potential funding or partnership opportunitiesParticipate in quarterly advisory meetings and occasional working sessionsReview and provide feedback on:Program expansion ideasCommunity needs and service gapsStrategic plans and initiativesTime CommitmentMinimum 5 hours per monthIncludes meetings, preparation, and occasional outreach or strategic supportIdeal CandidatesWe are seeking individuals who:Have experience or expertise in:Housing stability or tenant advocacyWorkforce development or educationFinance, accounting, or fundraisingLegal services or public policyCommunity development or nonprofit leadershipAre passionate about equity, access, and community empowermentCan provide objective guidance and constructive feedbackAre reliable, collaborative, and mission-drivenAdvisory Board Does NOT:Vote on organizational bylaws or financesCarry fiduciary or legal responsibilityManage daily operations
