The Albany Downtown Association (ADA) is looking for a dynamic and driven Executive Director to lead our mission of making Albany's downtown a vibrant, welcoming, and economically thriving district.About UsThe Albany Downtown Association is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit dedicated to promoting, beautifying, and economically strengthening Albany's historic downtown. We operate through the nationally recognized Main Street Four-Point Approach, focusing on Economic Vitality, Promotions, Design, and Outreach — and we also oversee Parkwise, the City of Albany's parking management program.The RoleAs Executive Director, you'll be the face and engine of ADA, working alongside our Board of Directors, volunteer committees, and community partners to activate downtown, grow membership, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization.This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be in the office, on the street, at City Council, and at community events, building the relationships and programs that keep Albany's downtown alive and thriving.What You'll Do-       Lead day-to-day operations and implement the ADA's annual work plan-       Serve as the primary liaison between ADA, businesses, property owners, city government, and community stakeholders-       Support and guide the Board of Directors and volunteer committees-       Manage the operating budget, monitor revenue and expenses, and coordinate grant reporting-       Write grants and develop fundraising strategies in collaboration with the Board-       Build and execute marketing and social media strategies that highlight downtown Albany-       Plan and support signature downtown events and promotions-       Recruit, train, and motivate volunteers-       Submit monthly reports and present to City Council and other community groups-       Oversee any staff or interns-       Complete reporting for the Oregon State Main Street Program and the City of AlbanyWhat We're Looking For-       At least 2 years of experience in Main Street program management, economic development, or a related field-       Background in nonprofit administration or leadership-       Familiarity with the Main Street Approach to downtown revitalization-       Experience in fundraising and working with a Board of Directors-       Strong relationship-building and communication skills — written and verbal-       Experience managing and motivating volunteers-       Tech-savvy: comfortable with Microsoft Office, social media, content management tools, and QuickBooks (required)-       Self-motivated, strategic thinker with strong follow-through-       Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may substituteCompensation & Benefits-       Annual salary: $50,000–$70,000, depending on experience (Exempt)-       Paid holidays and vacation after the introductory period-       Professional development and training opportunities-       Collaborative, mission-driven work environmentWork Schedule & LocationMonday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with evening and weekend availability as needed for events and meetings. Based in downtown Albany, Oregon. Occasional local, regional, and national travel for training and conferences.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
