Project Accountant

Position Summary: The Project Accountant’s primary responsibility is to support the project team regarding preparation of contracts, contract modifications, change orders, compliance, payments, reports and any other duties related to the project along with any other tasks assigned. This position reports to the Controller.Essential Functions:Manage all accounting-related functions for assigned projects.Assist project teams with any questions or needs related to the accounting department.Manage invoices, payments, and compliance-related documents for assigned projects.Understand compliance requirements for assigned projects.Responsibilities:Generate Contracts & Purchase Orders for assigned projects.Generate Change Orders for assigned projects.Process vendor invoices accurately and within assigned timeline.Process sub-contractor pay applications accurately and within assigned timeline.Collect and track compliance documents.Generate reports including Committed Cost, Contract Status, and Job Cost.Input owner billings in Accounting Systems.Prepare monthly owner invoices using AIA G702/G703 Formats.Prepare supplemental schedules for billing as required.Prepare Lein Waivers, Submit to Subcontractor/Supplier & Track.Maintain organized job files (paper & paperless).Assemble project owner’s manual.Other related duties as assigned or needed.Qualifications:Minimum 5 years prior experience working as project accountant or equivalent.Experience in the construction industry is required.Computer Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word.Accubuild experience a plus.Autodesk experience a plus.Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and vendor payments.Strong communication skills.Work independently to meet deadlines.Key competencies are Communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability.Compensation & Benefits:Job Type: Full TimePay: $27.00-$34.00 per HourBenefits:Health InsurancePaid Time OffHoliday PayLife InsuranceWork Location: In Person (Indianapolis, IN)
