Speech Language Pathologist

Speech Language PathologistJob purpose:The Speech Language Pathologist provides direct speech and language services to students who qualify for special education services. Responsibilities also include completion of speech and language evaluations, participation in the MTSS speech and language intervention process, participation in special education eligibility and IEP meetings, managing a caseload of students, IEP development, and Medicaid billing.Duties and Responsibilities:Exhibits a high knowledge of speech and language service techniques for students with a variety of communication-related difficultiesCommunicates and performs duties in a manner compliant with IDEA, Georgia state rules, Dalton Public Schools local procedures, and the Georgia State Code of EthicsExhibits effective communication skills with other service providers (i.e., teachers, other therapists, administrators, and other school and district staff)Proficient using word processing, spreadsheets, and forms applicationsExhibits consistent and effective strategies to communicate as an itinerant staff memberWorks with accuracy and timeliness in requested tasks and work completionExhibits effective record-keeping/data collection skillsAttends district and school meetings when scheduledMaintains in-field licensure/certificationQualifications:To be qualified for this position the employee must possess active Georgia licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.This position is not available for individuals seeking alternative preparation for certification.Please attach a copy of your state issued teaching certificate.Work Calendar:This position works 190 days.Open until filled:Review of applications and interviews will begin immediately as applications are received and selection of a candidate may occur at any time.This position is posted for the 2026-2027 school year.
