Senior Loan Officer
Job Summary: Engage Members and prospective Members through inbound/outbound phone calls and website chatto determine loan needs. Act as the main point of contact through the loan process, from application to closing. Achieve loan goals through both self- generated and provided leads from a robust marketing platform.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Source new loan leads mortgage, home equity, auto, boat, recreational vehicles and credit cards.
Answer member inquires via phone, email and chat to determine member needs in a professional, responsive and efficient manner
Make follow up calls on digital leads
Make business development calls on local realtors to create referral network.
You will be assigned a branch where you will support the Members as well as the branch staff
Coach and train branch staff to be able to effectively discuss loan products with Members to provide quality referrals.
Discuss branch loan referrals weekly with assigned branch to ensure goals are obtained
Make recommendations to EVP/Chief Retail Officer of any staff that may need additional training
Cross sell products and services to meet member needs
Process and collect all documents from members on Consumer and Mortgage loans from open to close
Follow through with all loans to ensure loans are closed in a timely manner
Explain loan denials and explore other options for members
Increase credit union membership through cold calling and current member referrals
Meet and exceed all established sales goals
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
· Minimum 2 years mortgage lending sales experience required
· Proven record of meeting established sales and service goals
· Knowledge of financial products and how they work for both mortgage and consumer lending
· Professional demeanor includes treating all with courtesy, tact and diplomacy along with asking for the sale and closing the deal
· NMLS required
· Notary required
· Works will minimal supervision and must be self-motivated
· Valid driver’ license to meet members and retrieve needed documents and signatures
Physical Requirements/Work Environment: May lift up to 25 lbs.;Office work- must be able to use a PC and phone; hearing and sight are required to perform this job; may need to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer. Must have a valid driver’s license to travel between branch locations and develop business in the community.
