Water Quality Program Supervisor
General DescriptionThis position performs advanced technical, professional, and supervisory work within the Water Resources section, with a primary focus on administering Water Quality programs. Key responsibilities include overseeing sample collection and regulatory data reporting, managing private well permitting and abandonment, coordinating cross-connection control efforts, and supporting wellhead protection initiatives. The role also involves managing related information systems and ensuring accurate documentation, storage, and reporting of all program data. In addition, this position supervises and assigns work to Water Samplers, Cross Connection Control Inspectors, and the Program Specialist. Working under the general direction of the Water Resources Manager, this position exercises a high degree of independence, judgment, and leadership while collaborating closely with Water Engineering and other Water Resources staff.IMPORTANT: PLEASE ATTACH A COVER LETTER, UP TO TWO (2) PAGE, IN THE ATTACHMENTS SECTION OF THE APPLICATION. Such experience should have included or be supplemented by at least one (1) year of leadership or supervisory experience. ANDBachelor’s degree in water resource management, chemistry, microbiology, environmental engineering, or a closely related field.-OR-Two (2) years of experience with the following:Principles, practices, and methods associated with drinking water quality and the operation of a large municipal water utility.Groundwater management practices, drinking water regulations, and water chemistry and microbiology.Full range of supervisory principles and practices, labor relations and personnel management.Computer software applicable to the duties of the position.Familiarity with the following:Applicable city ordinances, Wisconsin DNR codes, and position-specific federal regulations.Distribution system computer models and system hydraulics.DepartmentWater UtilityOpening Date03/31/2026Closing Date4/14/2026 11:59 PM Central
